The City of Pueblo Police Department has reported the arrest of Corena Rose Minjarez, 36, and Jesus Dominguez, 35, on charges of murder and abuse of a corpse in connection with the discovery of a gruesome crime. The arrests come after the shocking find of a girl’s body encased in concrete and a boy’s remains inside a suitcase in Colorado, as revealed by police and public jail records.

Authorities uncovered the girl’s remains in a metal container filled with concrete located in a storage unit last month. The unit was being cleared out due to unpaid rent. During the subsequent investigation, the police began searching for two children, Jesus Dominguez Jr. and Yesenia Dominguez, last seen in the summer of 2018. Disturbingly, these children had not been reported missing, according to the police department’s news release.

Further inquiry led the police to a vehicle registered to Ms. Minjarez in a scrap yard. Upon inspection, they discovered a boy’s remains inside a suitcase located in the trunk of the car. DNA testing conducted on February 15 confirmed the identity of the remains, linking them to the two missing children.

Notably, the police have not provided information regarding any relationship between the victims and the two individuals who have been arrested.

Court records reveal that both suspects are currently held on a $2 million bond, with court hearings scheduled for Wednesday. Despite this significant development, available court records need to specify attorneys representing Ms. Minjarez and Mr. Dominguez who could offer comments on their behalf.

The shocking and disturbing nature of the case underscores the tragic circumstances surrounding the discovery of the children’s remains. As the investigation unfolds, the community awaits more information on the motives behind this heinous crime and any potential connections between the suspects and the victims. The upcoming court hearings are expected to shed light on the details of this tragic incident.
