Have you been wondering why the National Guard is still in Washington, D.C?
I have, as I’m sure many have, particularly after the reports of them being shabbily treated by those in power (now completely Democrats) and being made to take rest breaks in a cold garage, thousands packed together with one bathroom.
Especially now with the inauguration being over, what are they still doing there at the Capitol?
Red State governors Greg Abbot of Texas and Ron DeSantis of Florida are saying enough — they want their Guard home.
Abbott said he had instructed the head of the Texas National Guard to order them home.
I have instructed General Norris to order the return of the Texas National Guard to our state. @TexasGuard

Abbott also said he would not send them again if they were going to be questioned as they were with extra vetting.
From Daily Wire:
Notably, service members are already screened for ties to extremism or other potential flags. Thus, the latest screenings seem to be excessive and perhaps linked to suspicion directed at supporters of President Donald Trump after the Capitol riot. The Associated Press in a Monday report on the screening, for example, named supporters of the president as potential threats to a Biden inauguration.
“This is the most offensive thing I’ve ever heard. No one should ever question the loyalty or professionalism of the Texas National Guard,” Abbott tweeted on Monday. “I authorized more than 1,000 to go to DC. I’ll never do it again if they are disrespected like this.”
DeSantis was even more pointed in his criticism of the use of the National Guard, attacking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).
“They’re soldiers,” DeSantis said during an interview on Fox. “They’re not Nancy Pelosi’s servants. And this comes on the backend of them trying to investigate the backgrounds of our guardsmen….I thought it was totally inappropriate. This is a half-cocked mission at this point.”
Chris Sununu of New Hampshire is also ordering the New Hampshire National Guard home.
I’ve ordered the immediate return of all New Hampshire National Guard from Washington DC. They did an outstanding job serving our nation’s capital in a time of strife and should be graciously praised, not subject to substandard conditions. @NHNationalGuard

There had been at least 25,000 National Guard delegated to the Capitol.
While we noted this in a prior story, we also wanted to highlight that either someone is lying about how the Guard came to be booted out of the Capitol or there’s a concerning problem in communication here, because the head of the Capitol Police, Yoganda Pittman, said they didn’t ask that the Guard leave the Capitol and the commander in charge of the Guard on-scene said they did. So that’s a problem there that someone needs to address.
“The United States Capitol police did not instruct the National Guard to vacate the Capitol Building facilities,” Pittman said. “And on Inauguration Day, the Guard was notified and encouraged to reoccupy the spaces in the Capitol and CVC at 2 p.m.”
Pittman claimed the National Guard has now been “relocated” inside the Capitol building.
“As of this morning, all Guardsmen and women have been relocated to space within the Capitol Complex,” Pittman continued. “The Department is also working with the Guard to reduce the need for sleeping accommodations by establishing shorter shifts, and will ensure they have access to the comfortable accommodations they absolutely deserve when the need arises.”
