As you can well imagine, Democratic President Joe Biden has no shortage of those who are disappointed in him and rather disgusted by the job he isn’t really doing. In particular, there are a growing number of those who are realizing that he has no business commanding our military troops and making policy decisions for them.
Of course, most of this was realized not long after Biden was put in the White House and around the time that he decided that our best course of action as a nation would be to pull our troops out of a 20-year stint fighting for Afghanistan’s freedom from tyranny and oppressive leaders.
In fact, this act and the many unfortunate ones since have only proved to those like Green Beret veteran Jason Bacon that something has to change.
Now, clearly, unless some strange fate awaits us all, getting Biden out of office in the coming months or even the next couple of years may be next to impossible, if not somewhat ill-advised. However, that doesn’t mean changes can’t be made to Congress, a body that has the power to hold our presidential office and the policies that come from there in check.
And that’s exactly why Bacon has launched a PAC designed to do exactly that, or at the very least get people into Congress that can and will.
The Green Beret PAC, which was launched on Memorial Day, is said to be focused on helping those from multiple Special Forces groups and other conservative veterans run and get into Congress, according to Bacon. It is his hope, as well as that of many Americans, that an increase in lawmakers who are veterans will help those legislative bodies make sound military-related decisions and, therefore, avoid the “kind of travesty” that we experienced when Biden withdrew our troops from Afghanistan last year.
In a news statement to Fox News, Bacon said, “It is no coincidence that we are launching on Memorial Day, less than a year after we witnessed the Biden administration’s failed leadership contribute to the loss of American lives in Afghanistan. It is imperative that we elect real leaders to Congress with the knowledge and experience to prevent this kind of travesty.”
In contrast to Biden’s epic military failures, Bacon explains that many candidates running for Congress this year have actual experience on the battlefield and have proven that they not only know what they are doing but have done it well.
And for many, including Bacon’s fellow green berets, that includes being “warrior-diplomats” who have learned about our allies and other nations by living there, among the local populations, learning their languages, and coming to know their cultures well. This then gives them a far better idea of how to handle certain situations with those nations and their diplomats.
As he says, “They have a breadth of experience that surpasses that of a typical Congressional candidate. We are proud to support these outstanding candidates for Congress.”
So far, the PAC has put its support and funding behind eight former green berets and one Navy SEAL – and all of them are conservative.
In the House of Representatives, Green Beret Tyler Allcorn is running in Colorado, Jay Collins and Mike Waltz are running in Florida. Pat Harrigan and Christian Castelli have announced a bid in North Carolina. From Virginia, Derrick Anderson is running, and the PAC is supporting Joe Kent of Washington.
There is also one Green Beret running for Senate, Don Buldoc of New Hampshire. The Navy SEAL Eli Crane is running for Congress in Arizona.
All of these individuals have expressed their disappointment in a commander in chief who not only poorly executed the US military withdrawal from Afghanistan but then also broke a promise to make sure that all Americans in that nation would be brought safely home.
As retired Lt. General William “Jerry” Boykin told Fox last year, “What’s really troublesome and almost frightening to know is that we have a commander in chief who does not see the imperative of bringing the Americans home,” which, as he correctly describes it, is a “longstanding ethos” for our nation.
Hopefully, with the help of the Green Beret PAC, Congress will be infiltrated by individuals who can bring back policies and military decisions that will put Americans first and not last.
