You would think at this point that most people and the media would have the basic general facts of the Rittenhouse case down. But because the media itself hasn’t been honest, many people who just listened to something like MSNBC got a rude awakening — if they bothered to watch the trial and find out the actual facts of the case.
But some — even now — still don’t seem to care about the basic facts, which is fine. Unless you have platforms from which you are spreading harmful misinformation about the case. Then you’re auditioning to join the list of “those whom Kyle Rittenhouse should sue.”
It’s probably tough to say exactly the worst misinformation that has been slung about the Rittenhouse case. But certainly, that spread from James Madison University (JMU) and MSNBC’s Tiffany Cross would have to be duking it out for the crown.
A university account of James Madison University posted a video of a student spreading misinformation about the case and about other cases, claiming that Rittenhouse took “two beautiful black lives.”
JMU is a publicly funded university that is now pushing political propaganda and misinformation from their social media accounts.
JMU’s actions are unethical, as Kyle Rittenhouse was found innocent, and dangerous, as the post pushes false info that could lead to violence. 2/2

“Thank you to JMU, thank you to the entire Duke family,” he acknowledges, before saying “I simply wanted to publicly announce that the verdict with the Kyle Rittenhouse case has been nothing more than a disgusting [inaudible],” as he goes on to discuss “what it’s really like to be Black in America. All the protesting, everything we went through in 2020, we-we really would think it would make a change but clearly it doesn’t.”
“We scream Black Lives Matter but it doesn’t matter enough for these people who are in power, the jury, the judge, anybody, to charge this man with murdering and taking away two beautiful Black lives at the ripe ages of 26 and 36. It’s disgusting,” he continued. “We can’t go to the store, Rest In Peace Trayvon Martin, we can’t lay in bed, Rest In Peace Breonna Taylor. And we can’t even protest without our lives being on the line. And that’s what we fight for,” he said in conclusion.
Yikes. So the people weren’t black and as the trial determined, they weren’t murdered. He’s also wrong about the other folks he names — leaving out some critical facts “we can’t go to the store” with Trayvon Martin, like the evidence that Martin was trying to beat George Zimmerman’s head into the concrete.
In the case of Breonna Taylor, she wasn’t lying in bed, but standing near her boyfriend who had just fired at the police. They claim they knocked and announced they were police; he claims he didn’t hear that and thought someone was breaking in. That was a common falsehood spread about the case — that she was asleep in bed. And in the Rittenhouse case, the two men killed weren’t shot because they were protesting; they were shot because they were attacking Rittenhouse. But the young man who makes the comments on the above video represents the thinking of many people on the left — very offended by something they don’t know the facts about.
The University later deleted it, but why did it go up to begin with? They tried to suggest it was just his opinion that they don’t necessarily share, but then why post it?
Then there was MSNBC’s Tiffany “Everything is Racist” Cross. I commend her to the attention of the Rittenhouse civil attorneys. As we noted earlier, Rittenhouse’s criminal defense lawyer, Mark Richards, laid out some of the examples of the misinformation being spread on MSNBC. Add this one to it.
The folks at MSNBC were still at it yesterday. Here was Tiffany Cross, the same person who claimed that truck drivers were racist and white. She claimed not only that Rittenhouse was “murderous,’ but that he was a “white supremacist,” but both she and Elie Mystal defamed Republicans as white supremacists/white supremacist supporters as well.

“I find these people disgusting, Elie, I’m disgusted at what I’m seeing. It’s not just this trial, it’s other trials, but this in particular,” Cross said Saturday during a segment of “The Cross Connection.”
“The fact that white supremacists roam the halls of Congress freely and celebrate this little murderous white supremacist, and the fact that he gets to walk the streets freely, it lets you know these people have access to instituting laws, they represent the legislative branch of this country,” she continued. “What are we to make of that?”
To which Mystal responded by saying, “Welcome to the modern Republican Party,” adding that “This is what these people want, and this is what a majority of white people vote for.”
At least JMU removed the video, but Cross is deliberately malicious and she’s saying it with purpose to whip up anger against Republicans. This is abandonment of all reality for political narrative. But unless she — and MSNBC — get held accountable for this, they will just keep on with the lies.
