President Joe Biden’s State of the Union lasted about an hour and change, and by the time it was done the level of BS in the House of Representatives was at its highest ever. The overwhelming sense of smug failure from the progressives was palpable as Biden droned on and on while honking his own horn.
People like Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Lauren Boebert (R-CO) took exception to the way Biden was preaching. They took exception to his discussion of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan while completely ignoring the 13 servicemembers he allowed to get killed through his horrific planning on the withdrawal from Afghanistan. The loud comments from these Reps were not missed by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) or Pelosi.
When asked about their actions during a March 3rd news conference, Pelosi didn’t hold back. “I agree with what Senator Lindsey Graham said. Shut up. That’s what he said to them. I think they should just shut up.” This comment quickly made its way back to Boebert who took the opportunity to respond in kind.
“So Fancy Nancy is upset about me speaking out at the State of the Union. What’s she so torn up about? I will not ‘shut up’ about Biden’s failure in Afghanistan and the 13 heroes we lost because of it” said Boebert via Twitter. A tweet like this is a direct response to someone who is living up to her reputation of speaking out of her backside. Pelosi has proven time and time again how horribly misinformed and uneducated she is.
Her refusal to listen to other people and to accept that the progressive agenda is not something the majority of Americans can get behind is bothersome. She finds reason to take exception with members of her party who vote against their cornerstone ideas like the Build Back Better bill. Unfortunately for her, AOC, and the rest of the progressives, the people who speak out against these ideas are doing so to be the voice of their constituents.
For the last 25 years or so the Democrats have forgotten the idea that politics are supposed to be about the people having someone who goes to DC to represent their voice. It’s not about party allegiance, but it’s about allegiance to the people who put you in office. It’s about making sure they know that you have their best interests in mind
As people begin to wake up to these ideas, Reps like Boebert and Greene are getting themselves established and turned into household names. Unlike AOC, they aren’t getting that attention from spewing out poorly informed tweets and horrific ideas. Their attention is from sticking to the convictions that got them in office, and ensuring their people are properly represented in DC. This will not only keep them in office but will also advance the positions within the party.
As people start to expect more from their politicians, people like Pelosi and AOC are in trouble. The American people are tired of scraping by with the bare minimum. They are tired of politicians pushing them around and not allowing them to grow as Americans, and just being kept down under their boot heel. They want to achieve more, and that is something the Democrats have been trying to prevent. The knowledge that people like Boebert won’t be silenced, that they will remember what is important to Americans and hold their reps accountable for it is crucial. Keeping them committed will keep America free and on the right path.
