Trump Warns His Lawyers Are Ready

Trump has warned that his lawyers are ready if Democrats try any shady dealings on election night.

The Attorney General of Pennsylvania essentially declared a premature victory in his state for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

Just days before the election, Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro made his bias more than clear in attacking President Donald Trump on social media. Reacting to the president’s comments during rallies as he traveled across Pennsylvania on Saturday, the Democrat tweeted that “Trump is going to lose” if all of the ballots in state are counted.

Trump has repeatedly expressed that the winner of Tuesday’s presidential election should be determined that night and has lamented that mail-in ballots may continue to be counted after polls close. The president has warned of potential abuses and fraud in the extended process, especially in swing states like Pennsylvania where ballots can be counted up to nine days after the election.

“You wait and very bad things can happen with ballots,” Trump said in Newtown. “November 3rd is going to come and go and we’re not gonna know and you’re gonna have bedlam in our country.”

And while Democrats attack the president over his warnings, they continue to make it clear that his warnings are not baseless, as Pennsylvania’s attorney general showed by prematurely giving Biden a win in the Keystone State.

“If all the votes are added up in PA, Trump is going to lose. That’s why he’s working overtime to subtract as many votes as possible from this process,” he tweeted on Saturday with no evidence.

“For the record, he’s 0-6 against us in court. We’ve protected voting rights. Now, ignore the noise—vote!” Shapiro added in the tweet reacting to a biased report in The Philadelphia Inquirer.

“We have a sitting president who’s actively trying to undermine this election,” Shapiro told The Washington Post. “He’s doing that because he knows that if all legal eligible votes are counted, he’s more likely than not going to come out on the losing side here in Pennsylvania.”

Democrats have spent months beating the drum and warning that Trump will either try to “steal the election” or refuse to leave the White House if he loses. The president has reiterated that he has serious concerns about the integrity of the election process as mail-in ballots are counted for days after Tuesday.

Trump denied an Axios report that he may attempt to prematurely declare victory over Biden on Election Day if he seems to be ahead, but did bring up how the Supreme Court refused to decide on a state court ruling to count ballots postmarked after Tuesday.

Shapiro challenged the president again in a tweet on Sunday.

Nevada State Attorney General Aaron Ford also fired off a message in response to Trump’s comments about having lawyers ready to file lawsuits on election night.

“And we’re ready,” Ford tweeted, responding to a tweet from PBS News reporter Yamiche Alcindor.

“President Trump before getting on stage in NC laid out his election legal strategy: flood the zone with lawsuits in places like PA and NV on election night,” Alcindor wrote. “He said, ‘We’re gonna go in, the night of, as soon as that election’s over, we’re going in with our lawyers.’”

“I don’t think it’s fair that we have to wait a long period of time after the election,” Trump said. “Should’ve gotten their ballots in a long time before that. Could’ve gotten their ballots in a month ago. I think it’s a ridiculous decision.”
