Given the frequency and level of ignorant things coming out of President Biden’s mouth, it’s become a double-time job for White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre to come up with excuses. One of his latest and underreported but horrific ones was calling two storied allies of the US “xenophobic.”

Speaking at a campaign fundraising event, he made the marks just three weeks after hosting Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. Held to celebrate and commemorate the alliance between the two nations, these latest remarks spit right in the face of that message. Roaring about the people in attendance, Biden tried to get his best ‘Merica rant going, and it came out, and a foot went right in his pie hole.

“Why? Because we welcome immigrants. Look, think about it. Why is China stalling so badly economically? Why is Japan having trouble? Why is Russia? Why is India? Because they’re xenophobic. They don’t want immigrants.” Adding on, “Immigrants are what makes us strong. Not a joke. That’s not hyperbole, because we have an influx of workers who want to be here and want to contribute,” Biden seemed to think he saved himself.

Called out by the press, Jean-Pierre stumbled worse than Biden trying to explain the President’s words away yet again. “Look. Here is what I am saying. He was talking about who we are as a country. Right? He was talking about the importance about being a country of immigrants, especially as you see the attacks that we have seen very recently in the last couple of years, on those attacks on immigrants in particular. And so, it is important for us to remember that we are a country of immigrants.”

No matter how the press framed the question, she refused to say or even acknowledge the word or its use. Just like her boss, Jean-Pierre clams up when she gets caught speaking out of turn or defending the horrible. Refusing to fall on her sword or send someone else on to it, she seems to think if she ignores the problem, it will go away. Unlike Biden’s, the rest of America’s memories are functioning, and they remember it’s never good to talk about allies like that.
